About Me

Even after 20-plus years in this business, I still love telling stories.

And I’m so fortunate that I get to do that every day. Since 2012, I have worked as a full-time writer, editor, public relations consultant, and marketing consultant, using words to deliver results, build brands and—yes—tell stories along the way. Stories that resonate with readers, spark an idea, share important information, and sometimes bring on a full-on belly laugh or on the flip side, a few tears.

Much of my work has focused on consumer health care, but I’ve been lucky as a writer to have had many opportunities and interesting people come my way. So I’ve written on sustainability, travel, food and restaurants, real estate, hotels, coding and 3-D printing, natural gas and pipelines, massage tables, cosmetics, financial services—and I hope many more topics to come.

When I had a day job, I worked in the PR and marketing departments for several health care organizations, including MCGHealth (now Augusta University Health) and Walton Rehabilitation Health System. During my time at MCGHealth, I managed local, regional and national media relations coverage for the adult and children’s hospitals. Some of my proudest moments—and longest hours—were working to coordinate coverage for the  nationwide PBS program, Remaking American Medicine, featuring MCGHealth’s patient- and family-centered care philosophy; ABC News’ radio program; CNN; and a variety of lifestyle publications, including Southern Living.

Today, some of my very favorite stories are about my toddler daughter, Addy; my Jack Russell terrier, Little Budha; and my husband, Sean.
